The Shepparton Branch of the Blue Ribbon Foundation attended the Waaia Tractor Pull earlier this year. Our Mobile Display Unit travelled up from Melbourne to help with some fundraising with a couple of our Melbourne associates getting a look at what we do for entertainment in the bush! They can hardly wait for next year's event. Special thanks to Branch Committee member David Liversidge for organising this attendance. On Friday 11th April Branch Vice-President, Gail Jenkins, attended a volunteer thank you function at the Waaia Recreation Reserve and received a cheque for $250, which was just one of several cheques presented to community organisations by the Tractor Pull Organising Committee. This donation will join others to create a new project of community benefit.
The Blue Ribbon Foundation - Shepparton Branch - joined with our police exhibit at the Motor Show last Sunday.
The combined result; with the BRF branch Cobber Car, Merchandise trailer, police Little Copper uniforms and police V8 Chrysler produced an engaging exhibit that had a constant flow of people who also accessed community crime prevention and road trauma reduction information.
It would be interesting to know how many photos of dressed up children and the cobber car are now circulating in our community!!
Thanks to the Blue Ribbon Foundation team - Brent, Gail and John for volunteering your time and energy. Thanks to David for getting the trailer and cobber car organised. The Shepparton Branch of the BRF is back up and running. Congrats to the Rotary Club for a great event raising valuable funds for the community.
The BRF trailer sold $1620 of BRF merchandising items during the day.
