The Portland Branch was established in 2009.

The Portland Branchhad been fundraising and working with the local community over several years, with the goal to install an Emergency Helipad at or near the Portland Hospital.

In December 2015, their goal was realised with the official opening of the Emergency helipad at Portland Hospital in honour of Senior Constable Mark BATEMAN.

This community will now have a permanent capacity to provide emergency evacuations of critical patients to larger hospitals and specialised treatment centres in Warrnambool and Melbourne.
