The Victoria Police Blue Ribbon Foundation is a not for profit charity that is reliant on community support to funds projects to honour Victoria Police members who have died in the line of duty.
With your support we can continue to fund projects such as providing new and upgraded public hospital services and equipment named in honour of the police who had died whilst servicing our community. All donations over $2 are tax deductible.
MAKE A DONATION
Tax-deductible donation to the Blue Ribbon Foundation are primarily used to fund new and improved medical facilities in Victoria’s public hospitals that are then named in memory of Victoria Police members who have died in the line of duty. We have already funded sixty-nine dedicated units, with forty-four of them in our regional hospitals. Your generous support enables us to remember lives by saving others.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The Blue Ribbon Foundation is currently working to fund the installation of an ECMO heart-lung bypass Unit at Frankston Hospital, to be named in memory of the four Victoria Police members tragically killed on the Eastern Freeway in April 2020 – Leading Senior Constable Lynette TAYLOR, Senior Constable Kevin KING, Constable Joshua PRESTNEY and Constable Glen HUMPHRIS.
Our Peninsula Branch has begun work on this project, which will complete Victoria’s planned rollout of ECMO coverage that will make the equipment accessible to all Victorians in the public health space.
ECMO can provide emergency heart-lung bypass treatment to critically ill patients. In simple terms it recycles the body’s blood every two minutes, re-oxygenating it to maintain the function of the heart and lungs. It is often used for patients suffering life-threatening cardiac conditions, respiratory failure and serious biological infections, greatly improving their chances of survival.
In 2019 the Blue Ribbon Foundation funded the Critical Circulatory Support Service at Eastern Health, which encompasses ECMO heart-lung bypass machines that are now located at the Box Hill, Maroondah and William Angliss hospitals.
Providing ECMO at Frankston Hospital will extend the service availability for people living in and around Frankston, the Mornington Peninsula and if required, areas such as Dandenong, Cranbourne and Pakenham.
Following the tragic deaths of our four police members killed on the Eastern Freeway in April 2020 Victorians rallied in support of their families and police force. Now, we’re hoping you will do the same in support of a very special memorial project that will permanently honour their sacrifice, by saving the lives of others.
