Jersey Boys Charity Performance
The international blockbuster musical JERSEY BOYS is coming to Melbourne in 2019 and will hold a very special one night performance dedicated to four important charities raising funds for great causes.
We are very fortunate to be one of the charities that will benefit from this special performance, with $50 of every ticket sale to be distributed between the four charities.

JERSEY BOYS is the story of how a group of blue-collar boys from the wrong side of the tracks became one of the biggest American pop sensations of all time. The musical features the Four Season’s hits including Big Girls Don’t Cry, Sherry, and Can’t Take My Eyes off you.
This year Victoria Police recognises and remembers five police officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice while on duty. These officers will be honoured with their place on the Police Memorial Honour Wall and the Honour Roll.

Across Victoria many sporting clubs are presenting their Victoria Police Blue Ribbon Foundation ‘Spirit of Sports’ awards.
We were honoured to recently attend the Colac District Football and Netball league end of season awards for junior football and netball.
Pictured are the weekly winners of the Blue Ribbon Foundation Spirit of Sport awards for Boys football under 17.5 and girls netball 17.5 & under – who were presented with the medals. The overall Spirit of Sport player of the year winner was Western Eagles Oliver McGuane.
The Spirit of Sport Awards Program was created to reward young participants in team sport for sportsmanship, fair play and mutual respect. In partnership with various sporting bodies and Victoria Police the program is widely supported in football and netball throughout country Victoria.
We congratulate these winners and others from across Victoria.

Thank you to everyone that supported the AFL Blue Ribbon Cup- St Kilda Football Club, Hawthorn Football Club, the Silk & Miller families, the Tynan & Eyre families, the footy fans, Victoria Police and our wonderful volunteers.
The donations will help us to fund a new lifesaving service at Box Hill Hospital, Eastern Health. This new service will be led by Eastern Health’s Cardiology and Intensive Care Unit teams. The new service will be dedicated to all 159 police officers who have died in the line of duty.
We value the opportunity to provide recognition for individuals, businesses and/or groups that make a significant contribution to the Victoria Police Blue Ribbon Foundation and the community.

Nominations are now open for the Blue Ribbon Foundation Police Officer of the Year award. This award recognises the outstanding contribution the recipient has made to the community.
This is your opportunity to nominate a member or colleague of Victoria Police who has made a valued and sustained contribution to the community that is considered above and beyond the call of duty.
Nominations for this Award close on May 31st and every nomination will be considered by our selection panel.

Grampians ‘Ride to Remember’ was held on Sunday 4 Feb and was a huge success, we congratulate the Ararat Branch and the sub committee involved in organising this event. Over 500 riders supported the event with the 234km ride through the Grampians district. Proceeds of this event will go towards vital medical facilities and equipment for the East Grampians Health Service.

Our Bendigo and Shepparton branches are both holding Inside Story events. Inside Story events provide you with a rare insight into the police investigations undertaken to solve some of Victoria’s most notable crimes. Presentations by the lead detectives will give you a chance to see and hear details not covered by the media and gain an understanding of those prosecuted.

This morning we were privileged to support a recognition service for Constable Kate Campbell the first policewoman for Tasmania Police in 1917. Kate was from Launceston but settled in Victoria after she left Tasmania Police.
The ceremony was conducted at St Arnaud cemetery. Tasmania Commissioner of Police Darren Hine and Acting Chief Commissioner Victoria Police Shane Patton were both in attendance.
In 2017, both states are celebrating 100 years of women in policing.
