The John Glen Resuscitation Unit

Mildura Hospital

The Resuscitation Unit at Mildura Base Hospital provides critical care and life support to patients admitted with a range of conditions including respitory distress and heart attack. A donation from the Victoria Police Blue Ribbon Foundation enabled the purchase of specialised equipment for the unit and was a joint project between the Blue Ribbon Foundation and the local community through the Mildura Branch.

The Unit was dedicated as a Police Memorial in memory of Constable John Glen who was killed in 1956. On Saturday August 4th, 1956 Constable Glen of the T District Mobile Traffic Section was riding a police motorcycle along Melbourne Road, Corio when he collided with a motorcar and later died in the Geelong Hospital.
