Record crowds for the Angela Taylor Memorial Run Walk
Posted by: Blue Ribbon Foundation

The Angela Taylor Memorial Run Walk was held on Sunday 28 April. It was so pleasing, that 30 years after this event first started that we had almost 1000 registered which is a record number of participants. It is wonderful to see such strong support for our Police service. We have many community, police and emergency service individuals and teams including the SES, Ambulance Victoria, Australian Federal Police, Crimestoppers, the Police Association and CFA joining us.
All proceeds from the event will assist in funding a Critical Circulatory Support Service at Eastern Health’s Box Hill Hospital in honour of Victoria Police Officers who have died in the line of duty. This new service will be led by Eastern Health’s Cardiology and Intensive Care Unit teams. The funding will deliver equipment and establish a training centre to enable Eastern Health to provide artificial heart-lung support. This new service will save lives.

The Gippsland branch committee has done amazing work to raise the funds and we sincerely thank the local community for their wonderful support. This will be dedicated to Victoria Police Officer/s who have died in the line of duty. Further details on the dedication will be announced once stage 3 of the works is completed.

Dedication – Constable Neil Clinch, VA
Posted by: Blue Ribbon Foundation
This week, our Foundation was proud to honour the life and service of Constable Neil Clinch with a dedication ceremony at Northern Hospital. The new Paediatric Emergency High Acuity Unit at Northern Hospital named in his honour will help save precious young lives. We congratulate our Victoria Police Blue Ribbon Foundation – Northern Metro Branch for their vision and commitment to see this dedication come to life.
Tragically, Constable Neil Clinch was killed whilst on duty – 5 April 1987 – he will never be forgotten.
Elvie Clinch (Neil’s mother) and the broader Clinch family joined us for the ceremony. Assistant Commissioner Russell Barrett presented Elvie with Neil’s Police Valour Award, the highest police award for bravery.
